350 x 350 Template - Lateral Movement

Hi,

Need a clarification on scrutineering procedure for the 350 x 350 template.

We have our steering rack going below the driver's knees, very close to the front roll hoop. Once the template safely passes that, there is in fact a lot of space in the bulkhead.

So what we want to know is, can the template be moved left and right while being inserted in till 100mm before the pedal face? Can we use one side of the bulkhead to bring in a clutch cable (for example),and have the template traversing slightly offset from the central axis of the bulkhead? Is this allowed?

If it doesn't actually violate the rule, it definitely violates the intent, which is to ensure the driver has plenty of room to get out. However, you should really contact the rules committee for questions like this
