hi all,
has anyone ever measured the temperature that your wheels get up to? im interested to know how hot they get compared to the rotors and what part it plays in tyre temperatures.
cheers

wheels typically only get warm to the touch, while brake rotors get hot enough to burn the tip of your fingers. tyre temps are somewhere in between. If that helps

Claude Rouelle said that our tire temp should be around 200F to be in the best operating range. Most FSAE cars (including ours) dont reach that temp quick enough for the events in Detroit to be operating at their full grip (endurance excluded).
