Hi guys
This is my first topic here, about our school's "first" car (no carryover members or any data from previous teams)

We're finishing up the car, and now updating the firewall to meet the LOS rule. I think we're going with a seat/firewall idea to save weight.

Our design requires us to run the firewall in the driver compartment side of the tubing, and our current (inadequate) design has holes for shoulder harnesses to go through. IIRC, the rules say the firewall must not have any holes. Would this still apply if the holes do not provide any LOS to the said systems (cooling, fuel, etc)?

Our other solution right now is to go with a two piece design where the firewall extending above past shoulders is another piece that sits behind the tubing..

Thanks!

Holes that do not give line of sight to all things mentioned in the rules do comply with the rules, we had holes like that for the belt on our car at silverstone. Do make sure you shield your belt from such things as fuel lines/fuelrail though, we had to fix this on ours to go through tech inspection.
