We are a rookie team from India. We will be importing a new CBR 600RR motor.
I just wanted to know if i should purchase some specific spare parts which have a tendency to get damaged very easily by a rookie team.
Thank you.

Well, we run the F4i, but I would recommend extra coil packs, spark plugs, coil drivers, clutch release pins (we tend to break 1-3 every year by having poorly adjusted clutch stops and general shenanigans), and that's about all I can think of. Forget most of the side cover and oil pan gaskets as RTV works well enough to subdue the major leaks as long as the parts are cleaned and torqued down in the proper order.
BUY THE BIKE'S FACTORY MANUAL! It will be invaluable.

if you are buying enigne first time, it will be helpful if you get it along with wiring.
on a non technical front, it will be really good if you buy engine with proper papers otherwise in later stages the legal authorities may trouble you when you will try to take the car out of country.

yes we are procuring the engine along with the complete wiring harness.
And can you tell me what papers exactly are required?

Well here is my 2 coins on this.
Buy tons of sparkplugs as they tend to get fuel/carbon-dirty very fast in FSAE, specially when you are first tuning the engine. Buy a least four sets of header gaskets, or whatever number you like but at least have a replacement, as it will be very rare if you can re-use them without having leaks on that cylinder. I've seen very clever header designs where you don't have to unbolt the header flange to remove the primaries.
As the guy before me told you, get an extra set of coils (in four years in my team I have never seen a OEM coil fail, but you never know). Maybe an extra clutch (never had clutch issues either, our extra clutches are two clutches we have laying around from broken engines).
It is very important that you get the engine with the wiring as usually (not always) you will need a lot of parts from it to run whatever ECU you decide. It is also useful if you can buy the engine with the header (OEM header flanges), or at least with the exhaust port studs. I suppose in USA you can walk to the nearest Fastenal and get those studs but here in Venezuela they are a treasure to have hahaha, otherwise we have to go with bolts and that's NOT a good option, anyway you will know best about your country.
As the other guy said too, don't worry about clutch cover or alternator cover gaskets, as usually grey silicon do the job. And maybe you should think about other way to attach your intake than the OEM rubber connections as they are a pain in the ...ss.
If I think of something else I'll get back here.

hi, been gone thru the process of import, hv had few bad moments with same, here is my few important points for u. fistly make sure u r getting the dash with engire or else its trouble, complete wiring harness with all sensors , keys if possible see, whether the engine comes with immobilizer or not, clutch cover is another important thing many sell the engine without it, finding one in india is difficult so look out for all this....
