Can anyone please tell me how they get RCV stub axles to go into a University Special diff? A quick look at the drawings http://www.torsen.com/fsae/fsaefaqframes.htm
and http://www.taylor-race.com/pdf/TORSENSTUB.pdf shows that the axle won't fit. Unless of course you use a press fit which doesn't make any sense. Also, on a similar note, does anyone know where the snap ring groove is located on this particular diff?

I realize the simple solution is to turn the shaft down a bit so it fits, but then why do they sell a stub axle for this diff if it doesn't fit? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry, just so you know what dimension I'm talking about, it's the 1.188" on the RCV drive shaft and the 30.000whatever mm on the diff.

Many teams (I want to say most teams) who use the Torsen will make their own custom housings out of aluminum, so this isnt a problem. The CVs need to be guided on a bushing surface, which is probably why the OD of the RCV CV is so similar to the ID of the university special. If you intend to use the university special cast iron housing, you'll probably need to clearance slightly (using sand paper).
