I was just curious to know how far along everyone is on their 2005 car. Aside from those teams in FSAE-A, has anyone began the testing phase yet?

Yup, I just tested the welder, we should be ready to start on the car pretty soon. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Kidding aside, UT @ Austin recently (yesterday) removed the frame from it's jig and are working on suspension components. Team Engine is setup on the Dyno waiting for a wiring harness and intake/exhuast.

Unless you are pretty much copying the previous car, I'm not sure how anyone could be testing already. Of course there are plenty of teams that do that anyway...
Of course if its a good car and you just want more refinement, it does give you time to redesign components. Still most FSAEers want to redesign and make something better, especially if it's just inherited.

Our frame is finished and suspension components are on their way. Drivetrain is through all of the initial design with only fitting and part cost mods left. Our engine has not been started yet http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif, but our pneumatic shifter design is completed with our protorype comming... and this is for our 2006 car. Didnt get in for 2005 http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif.
Cheers
