Just wandering how many other teams are currently developing or using carbon fibre suspension parts (wishbones, pushrods etc)

I answered late so much, but I wanna talk about this topic.
Now you know many teams uses CFRP for Wishborns and push lods in the world.
Most teams uses FW(fillament winding) or Prepreg seet winding techniques to make CFRP pipes. (I saw an Australian team uses (almost) same sistem and same technique of Formula 1 autoclave.)
But, here is an only team using CF braiding technique to make CFRP pipes in Japan.
Actually, I was a first team reader of This team "Grandelfino".
Challenges of our CFRP manufacturing should be interesting I think.
So that, I want to hear recently opinions someday.

Why make them yourself when you can buy them?

I couldn't agree more. With so many companies willing to make whatever you need even with custom sizes and at good prices. Plus the quality control and the sheer fact that we DONT HAVE TO MAKE THEM!

+1
We tested some samples last year of carbon tubes on an mts rig to see how they compared to manufacturer specs. They were pretty close in compression(home on break right now, don't have the numbers on me). Tension specs aren't listed by most manufacturers. I can think of two websites off the top of my head that have tubes in any size you may need ready to ship out.
Well, they have them as long as you don't need a 3" ID tube....

Here's a site I found. They go all up the way up to 3" ID tubes

It's too bad I don't have any pictures but I remember that our first impact test with carbon fiber tubes consisted of swinging the end of a 4 feet cf tube on a cone standing on a garbage can in the hallway right besides our office at school. Let just say it broke.
But back to the matter at hand, it is much easier to buy the tubes, since you won't spend any time working on the manufacturing of your tube and concentrate ont the attachments at the end of the tubes which, I believe is the most difficult part of using CF suspension parts.
