1) Anyone know what the output voltages are for the gear position sensor for a jixer 600?
2) Anyone know what the RPM output signal looks like from the motech? Is it just a series of pulses between 0 and X volts? If so, anyone know what the high value is?
3) For a motech auxillary input for ignition cut, what does the high value (voltage) need to be for activation?
Thanks, if any of this is unclear, please ask...I'd appreciate any input.

Hi Jieve,
The gear sensor on the gixxer 600 has 3 wires. The output is a variable resistance between 2 of the wires (can't rem which 2, test them out w a multimeter). The 3rd wire remains open while the engine is in gear. In neutral, this 3rd wire will short to either one of the 2 wires (again, can't remember which one)
The resistance values are approximately:
1st gear - 0.57k ohm
2nd - 0.83k
3rd - 1.53k
4th - 2.77k
5th - 6.8k
6th - 15k

2) do you mean the output from the crank gear tooth sensor or an output from MOTEC to run somthing like a tacho
3)motec has internal pull up resistors so any digital inputs should just switches to ground
have you got the ecu drawings you can get it at http://www.motec.com.au/drawings/ let us know about point 2 and i'll try and answer it. motec's got a few quirks but it's a good system which ECU are you using?

2) He meant the Motec signal.
3) Thanks, I'll relay the message.
We're using the M4. Ran the car today. Sings like a dream, but the manual shifting has something to be desired... any help with the Motec stuff is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kirk

i'm preety sure the output is 0-12 volt square wave but the best thing to do is set the output and measure using a scope. what do you want to use this output for?

The RPM signal for a shifting system. The only reason I asked is we don't have a scope anywhere near the car. I'll see if I can scrounge one up.
Thanks again,
-Kirk
