Hello Lemon Lime,
I am one of the R&D Engineers at OptimumG. Though we don't have a freeware version of OptimumKinematics, we do offer a 30 day trial and an excellent discounted rate for students. $495USD for students and $1895USD for professional use. That is a lifetime licence. I can also assure you that unlike freeware software you would get excellent customer support by yours truly http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
Currently we have over 200 universities using our software and many professionals.
If you have any questions or would like to try the software, please do so by either replying to this post or downloading the trial here: http://www.optimumg.com/softwa...mumkinematics/trial/ (http://www.optimumg.com/software/optimumkinematics/trial/) .
Have a great day!
Sam Weinstock

If you want it completely free, there is an old well proven DOS program available called "Wishbone.exe" that might be worth a look.

There are some open source MBD probgrams where you can build a kinematic model yourself.
Open Modelica
Chrono::Engine
Also, while not "free", universities will typically have Matlab installed with the full Simulink library which includes a multibody library.
