Hey guys, my name is Steve and I am from the University of Pittsburgh.

We are setting up traction control for the first time this year (helping develop the new PE ECU3), and I have a question.

For teams running TC, what would be a general "minimum" number of teeth to use on the sensor pickup wheels so that resolution at low speeds is not too bad? We are going to make our own brake discs, and incorporate the teeth into it. After varying the number of teeth and doing FEAs, we came up with 24 teeth with a 5" diameter.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I think you should be completely fine with 24 teeth
