View Full Version : Wrenching the car off-site after scrutineering?

Hi!

As we expect some work to be done on our car during the competition is it possible to take the car with us to a work-shop one of our sponsors might make avaiable quite close to the Silverdome even after scrutineering has been passed? How has this been handled in the past?

Tim,

You can take your car off-site during competition. GM Powertrain actually has almost their entire prototyping shop dedicated to fix and make parts for FSAE cars. If you change anything major on the car after tech inspection, it is your responsibility to get it reinspected. Should you fail to do so and the event staff finds out, you could get in trouble.
