i was watching the F1 qualifying the other day and Dave Hobbs the commentator was talking something about Lamboghini project by Daimler Chrysler, and then, Michael Royce name came up.

I was wondering if any one of you guys caught what they were talking about, and what kind of project he was talking about. I thought i heard a lambo car being designed and built by the ppl at daimler.

Garlic (whoever you are)
I hate to be seen as the 'Respect Nazi' on here, but I think you should either edit or remove your reference to Michael Royce, or at least offer an apology.
I know your comment may have been made in jest, but it is not seen as such by everyone who visits here, most probably, not Michael Royce!
Michael has been a friend of FSAE from the beginning. He and his wife Suzanne attend almost every FS/FSAE event world wide and are a font of advice and knowledge, always delivered willingly and with a smile. He will always hear a team out and actively assist helping the team overcome their difficulty.
Michael's knack of delivering unpalatable news in a friendly way to a team who have problems at Tech does not give you permission to refer to him as you did. People like Michael Royce deserve respect.

Fix it and apologise!

I have all due respect for the man. I've met him many times.

He deserves respect yes, and I've linked a bio which says it all. Anyone who reads the bio will realise my jest.

It's a joke. I am not going to edit it.

With all due respect to YOU Mr. Clarke, you are not in charge here and I shall do what I like.

Garlic (whoever you are hiding behind a pseudonym)
Calling someone a "Cheeky old bastard" is disrespectful and insulting in several ways.
I am not in charge here, but I don't insult or 'diss' people either.
This is a global forum, and your closing comment shows your true colours, a selfish, closed minded person who hides behind an assumed name.
I have no more to say.

Should we go ahead and define cheeky old bastard. I think it no different then what Pat Clarke has said of you, Garlic. Why didn't you call him a wanker? Or how about a shit head?

It isn't acceptable, and Pat is right. I hardly believe that you have thought out what it means. Cheeky means insolently bold. And we should all know what bastard means. Just cause you here it in a movie doesn't mean you know how they meant it, or how someone else will take it. Mr. Royce is aware of everything that is said or done on this site, because he has as much interest in these topics as anyone of us. I find it hard to believe that you could say such a thing, whether you mean it or not.

I dare you to walk up to your boss/ a professor and say "how are you doing, you insolently bold old offensive and disagreeable person.

It's called absurdism. If I told my boss that he'd likely laugh like a drain.

I know what the phrase means. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif I suppose I ought have added a face but I didn't, so that's that.

I'm not a student and it's been awhile. I'm set in my ways and not likely to be swayed by anything here so feel free to post but don't count on bringing me around.

The SPEED people were talking about the Lambo's F1 engine program and something else and mentioned that at the time both companies(Lambo+other) were owned by GM. Michael Royce e-mailed them and set it straight that Lambo was infact owned by Chrysler at the time. And from the bio you'll find that Mr. Royce was heading up their engine program for F1...

FSAE and motorsport in general is a pretty small circle eh?
