I found a site with a gear indicator diagram for the GSXR http://www.bluegauges.com/gearindicatorplans.htm
We are doing something similar with a digital display and I was wondering what others have used for a Voltage comparator and 7 segment driver display chip?

Thanks

Aaron-
Here at the U of A we are making a 7-seg display for our gear indicator. My personal favorite chip is the MC14489B.
The datasheet is here:
mc14489b (http://rocky.digikey.com/WebLib/Motorola/Web%20Data/MC14489B.pdf)

I like it because it requires only one pin to drive (via SPI) and it can control up to 5 7-segs at a time with only one chip. So you could add speedo, tach or whatever else too...

I don't remember what comparator we are using, but I will get back to you on that.

Hope this helps...
