View Full Version : Illogical British Timing

The 7th to the 10th of July is in everybody's mind as being the weekend of Formula Student. When Bernie finally got convinced by everyone that the British GP was a good plan, he stuck that on the same weekend. Not to be outdone, Lord March got keen for this weekend too, and stuck the festival of speed on this weekend too. Maybe it is just me, but is it really the most sensible idea to have the UK's 3 biggest motorsports events on the same weekend?

Well, I think you may convince Bernie to change the F1 calender for next year, just get your sponsors to pay about a few zillion dollars and you might be able convince him....

At least your competition isnt in the middle of your final exams. Coming back from detroit exausted and studying for a final is the worst.

More like the past, present and future of motorsport.

The GP's pointless and expensive but it'll be the first time I've missed the FoS in 4 years http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

As Simon has pointed out, the FOS date has been brought forward. Good thing I haven't bought my airline ticket yet http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well to be honnest, until I actually see the cars lined up at the grid and see those lights turn off and watch then cars take off in a mighty roar ... I won't believe that Bernie is even going to run the race.

Don't worry, Bernie won't run it, he's too old and he doesn't drive fast.

I'd rather have the FoS postponed. Two weeks before the competition would be two weeks less testing, and that can't happen.. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

is silverstone near leicester? maybe if half the team stays in for the competition the others can enjoy the grand prix and come back in time http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif. just have to convince our sponsors to pay for the tickets
