If you are bored of doing formula student coursework and need something to help you relaz then this is the game for you.
this is a fantasy style F1 game where, instead of being 1st person racing you have to setup a car. It is an internet based game where you join a team with another person, setup your car and driver characteristics then practise, qualify and race all of the F1 tracks in weeks rather then months. This is great fun

Well, start by hovering your mouse over the "garage" link at the top of the screen. you setup your car by guessing high or low on the common race car parameters using the sliders. you use the engineer's advice to get a start and try to hem in you're vehicle's handling and get the shortest possible lap times. i think cycleing tyres when testing is important so you dont wear them out before the race...but htis remains to be seen.
then you move on to qualifying strategy, race strategy and pit strategies. they are less invovlved than the setup of your car, but must be paid attention to. all this stuff gets taken care of in your 'garage' link.
also, for a given race, the full time sheets for practice, qualifying and race day are under the 'office' link and then go click on 'your desk' to see it all. hope it helps.
we also need more racers so this game can start! get guys from your team to join, we can make a race out of it :P

Since i started this thread i thought i best get in on the game. Go Super Aguri!!!
I need a 2nd in command. The game is about teamwork, sharing setups with your team mates etc.
A few more people and we will have a full grid and the game can get underway

Also, I think there were 2-3 guys already signed up that didn't do any practice laps yet. Whoever was my RBR teammate was one of them.

Not when you lead 48 laps to get passed on the 2nd to last lap its not! I now have empathy for Flavio Briatore and Jean Todt when it happens to them...
It is good fun though, especially colaborating with your teamate http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Don't worry claw, I wrecked in qualifying and haven't been able to get any good data for my setup, so you probably won't have to worry about that happening this race.

what's funny about this is the closer my car seetings get to spot on the slower my times became...two seconds slower...
go figure...
Dr Claw
04-01-2006, 12:54 PM
were you using harder tyres? or maybe you had issues that "didnt show the realistic capabilities of your car"? I'm spot on for 10 of the 12 parameters and had issues with each of my warmup runs which is where my +.365 is coming from..so watch out everyone!
As for crashing during qualifying, it's still a race from P20 though!

Are you changing the tires that you are running? that can make a difference. I won the first race in the series I'm in, then crashed when I was in 3rd in the second race. We'll see how this one goes,
