hi , i would like to have suggestions from you people regarding what would be a better option for the sheet to be attached to the base of the chassis....
1. 3mm thick aluminium sheet
2. 1mm thick G.I. sheet

Do you want this to be stressed or just a floor pan? Whatever holds your feet from falling thru to the ground is sufficient for the latter.

we just use some .035" sheet steel.

WHOA!!! Who parked the bus on our floor pan....? As Mike mentioned, are you planning on stressing it or is it just a divider between the road and your backside? Either way, in my opinion, steel is a bit of an overkill...
