I am actually tryin to implement electro-pneumatic shifter. Since I am using a Double Acting Pneumatic Cylinder for shifting of gears I am unable to achieve neutral position since it requires lesser force than other gear positions. Gear levels are 1-N-2-3-4-5. anyone please give me some ideas.

Make a new shift drum that places N where 1st used to be. That way N is now a full shift and not a half shift.
Don't worry about neutral. You don't need it during any of the dynamic events and if you ever want to engage it (pushing the car etc.) just do it manually. Usually it even works if you shift up and down several times then eventually neutral pops in.

You could do some sort of PWM or other means of reducing the force or travel and use the gear sensor or another sensor to detect neutral. It might not be 100% accurate, but if you can't access the shifting lever manually, it still come in handy.

Since am currently not able to achieve Neutral position, Would this create a lose of points in the design competition or ny other competitions???
As far as my memory reaches, we haven't had any problems with it in Design so far. However you should be able to explain WHY you don't have it.
