Hi, we are looking for tires to be used for driver training purposes, so we need them to last longer than the standard R065 compound in the goodyear slicks.
Is there anyone using other kind of tires (ie. Kumho Victoracers, etc).

We've used Toyo RA-1's before, which was a bad idea. They were $85 each, lasted about twice as long as our Hoosiers, but felt completely different and taught us bad habits as drivers.

Recently we've started using the R35 compound hoosiers as training tires. We found them on closeout for $75 each, and they feel exactly like the tires we run in Detroit, but less grip because of the compound.

You can get harder compounds from Goodyear, that's what I'd recommend if you want your drivers to learn the feel of the tires you'll eventually run in competition.

The R190 compound from Goodyear seems to last awhile. We were running that for all our testing before competition(10 - 20 hours) and we still have about half the tread left.

I found a Formula Mazda and Formula Ford race locally (well, 1 hr drive one way), got tons of free tires with good life in decent sizes. Goodyear and Avon fronts.

Im not SAE, but work with state FFord. The national guys use one set per round then dish them, while we do 4 rounds. Get chummy with the tyre supplier and you can pick up 2-3 sets for a carton of beer when the national circus comes to town. Pretty much all the testing tyres you need. Oz FF use ACB10.
