Mike,
Our team could definitely do with some accurate models of the F4i.
If you don't mind you can email them to me at jvande6@uwo.ca
Thanks

Perhaps one of the other people who got the file will help spread it around?

I'm trying to make a small collection of these for future disbursment... I have a few but the F4i is needed...

I can say that Mike did send the file out, but for some reason it seems corrupted.

Did you look at the file extension? Make sure your program can handle the CMM outputs. You may need another program to convert the points into a form recognized by your CAD software.

If you wouldn't mind, send it to me... kcornett@utk.edu . I'll take a look at it and make all the necessary file conversions for everything from Solidworks to NX.

I'm not dead. If anyone has some space to upload the files that would be easier.

Emailed the guys at Spatial Corp, which is hq'd down the highway from here. Their company name is in the header of those files. Hopefully they can sort this out.

Those file sizes seem to be rather small to me considering how detailed they must be. Solidworks tells me they may be truncated. Perhaps these files are not complete?

Guys, that is strange. I have imported them into I-deas and solid works. I will see if I can figure this out too.

If you still have the SolidWorks file you could try exporting it back out or just posting said file and have the community do the conversions as required instead of running around trying to figure out what's wrong with the original.

Any progress?

Mike,

Just wondering where you got the Iges files done. I have contacted a company here in Australia to get our GSX-R 600 done and the have quoted 4 days scanning at a price of $5800 AUD. That would have included a cloud of points and all the reference planes. Is there anyone you can recommend and approximate costs?

Cheers

Olly

oz_olly, do you use Solidworks as your CAD program, if so does InterCAD provide the program to your team or uni?

If that is the case please pm me.

Regards,

Mike

Did anyone get this to work? It's been awhile since I've had a chance to really look at it (CAD machine is at my apartment and I'm not), but last I checked people (myself included) couldn't get the IGES file to import into SW.

They aren't much but it should be enough to get you started.
