Hey guys

I saw a lot of teams rather use double u-joints than a single cv joint. Why is that? what are the disadvantages of cv joints in a steering system?

Tony,

I think it'll depend on what kind of CV joint you're looking at, but typically u-joints are simpler and/or less expensive. The steering column doesn't need to be perfectly constant-velocity, so you can get away with one or two u-joints instead of a more complicated mechanism.

At least that's how I look at it.
