Hi..I have some question..We intend to use F4i engine at 2005 competition..Last year we used F4..So I don't know engine mounting point..
F4i point is same F4 or different??
If different..
Does anyone have a CAD model of the F4i Engine?
We want something with the mounting points and basic shape will do just fine. If you can be of any help please reply or e-mail me!!

I know there's been threads about engine models before, fellas. Either look that up or do some measurements and CAD.

Ahhh, analogue Vernier caliper - how low tech... http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

i believe technically that's an analog dial caliper. Vernier is a different display method.

but the tape measure, now that's low tech.

I would definately recomend getting your hands on an engine and taking your own measurements.

This year we've messed about with two different CAD models of the same engine, neither agreed with the other, although one was closer to our measurements than the other. In the end, using someone elses CAD model has caused more problems than it's solved, so if you've got an engine, make your own CAD model! Aside from just being more reliable, the process will get you to think more about where everything is and how you plan to mount it.

This year i used some masking tape and counted the 5mm squares in my log book when i couldn't find a ruler.

Hi
@Cement Legs,
It would be very kind of you if you email me the F4i CAD model.

Thanks in advance http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

That might be a quite ambitious request, seeing as that was posted nearly 5 years ago...

Hi. We have a Kawasaki Ninja Engine which has got three mounting pts. From poin of view of FSAE car one of them faces the driver and other on the rear. All are in the lower stock of the cyl block. We are a bit unsure as to which is the best support structure for the engine. 1) Cradle frame 2) Beams and Clamps are some options. which do you think will suit us best??

Just weld the bastard...

Don't forget to heat treat it afterwards http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
