Hey guys,
I just heard from my friends in Germany, that there will be no early registration for the FSE class at FSG but a lot of
slots blocked for the Top 10 of the FSC cars.
Could anyone answer me why on earth the organisators are choosing this approach?
I mean there are about 80 electric teams in FSAE. One from Canada, one from Australia, one from Pakistan, two from India
and one from Iran. If I'm calculating correctly there are over 75 european teams (including GFR) that want surely to
participate in FSE because it's still the number one electrical competition.
These teams battle over 31 starting positions. It's quiet tough.
But if you saw FSE 2011, there were 15 teams who didn't drive at all.
I don't wanna dishonor their work, building an electric car is a tough challenge I guess, but consider this:
GFR, Stuttgart, Munich, Zurich, Karlsruhe, Zwickau will fail to qualify. Now take a look at the competition...
In my humble opinion, these top teams do also have worked their asses of to build the finest race cars in this competition
and deserve a starting position in FSE 2012 just like the Top 10 finishers of FSC and the Top 10 World ranking of the
combustion cars.
It's definetly the right approach to honor maybe the Top 5 of FSE 2011 or the Top 5 of the electric world ranking.
It would be a shame in any other case!
Cheers,
Tom
