Hi,
I am Michael. I am from Germany and I am a member of the formula student team Lions Racing Team.( http://www.lionsracing.de/) I am studying automotive engineering. I will finish studying in ayear. I want to make a practicum in Los Angeles County in Oktober. the town I will live is Glendorra.
I would like to have an advise for a company. I want to make a nice practicum, but I also wanne see the US. Therefor It would be nice if the company could cope with that.
All in all I am mostly interested in vehicle dynamics.
I am happy for every answer you give me.
Thanks
Michael

Are you looking specifically for an automotive job?
Check out positions with Honda, and TRD. They both have some design and development facilities around the LA area (although they are both a bit of a drive, Honda Performance is in Santa Clarita, 45 mins north of LA, and others in the Irvine area, 45-55 mins south-east.)
There are also several contract job shops, but not too much as far as vehicle dynamics goes. Perhaps trackside race engineering though.
My company is one town over in Monrovia, CA, you're welcome to give me a call and come by since I expect you won't know tons of people.
How long will you be here for?

Hi Drew,
thank you for your fast reply. I looked for an automotive job, because Iam studying this part of mechanical engineering. If there is a great company with nice peoples, that has nothing to do with automotive, I will be as happy. What is your company doing?
I looked up Honda Performance. It seems to be a nice company for a practicum.
What is your company doing? You are right expecting me not to know tons of people. I had a school exchange with the Glendorra High. Since then I have a good relation to my hosting family. My exchange partner studies at the Brigham Young University in Utah. His parents told me, that I am welcome to stay at there house for the practicum's time.
All in all I am planning to stay 6 Months in the US.
Thanks again ;-)

Our company does prototype and custom engineering services, usually one-off machines or proofs of concept. We build a large portion of our projects in house.
I have descriptions of the sorts of job openings we usually have here a few threads down on this site, feel free to contact me if you'd like to know more.
