Like just about everyone else, we would like to relocate our oil pan to lower our engine in the chasis. Is anyone willing to post some pictures of their setup, or even a past setup that they were fairly happy with.
Cheers

We run an 1/8" or 3/16" aluminum plate in place of the oil pan in conjunction with our dry sump.

Our 2004 car used a cast aluminum dry sump oil pan (links to pics below) with integral mounting points for the drivecase. Unfortunetly, at the last minute we decided to return to a wet sump system due to packaging, weight, and no place for a water pump due to the dry sump oil pump taking its place. This left us with very little oil capacity and a few concerns for the longevity of the engine. As a quick fix we installed a remote oil filter with long lines and a Dodge Ram truck oil filter which added about an extra quart. After competition we opened up the engine and found no damage, but I'm not sure I would reccomend this pan for a wet sump system. This year's oil pan is equally as low profile, but with extended length reaching under the drivecase for added oil capacity. Initially we wanted to use the drivecase as a storage tank for oil and run a common lubrication system, but we looked at a few recent Formula 1 setups and their problems with contamination from the transmission / final drive and decided against it for now. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has experimented with a common lubrication system with their comments.
