Need help for estimating a few numbers

I'm Karl and I'm doing a MSc Mechanical Engineering degree at Swansea University. I'm doing a feasibility study about the electrical formula race, where Swansea Uni wants to know how much it would cost and how to make their normal fuel car into an electrical one.

Can anyone please provide some average/rough estimates on how much the parts listed are likely to cost, and possible manufacturers?
-Brushless DC motor (concept is to use 4 of these)
-Lithium-ion Polymer battery (some details would be needed to determine how many batteries are needed)
-Lithium Iron phosphate battery (some details would be needed to determine how many batteries are needed)
-Supercapacitor

You need to know more details about the motors, like average power, weight, etc.

For batteries, you can look at Hobbyking.com for some quick price comparisons. Some think that using RC cells is a no-no, but the RC community has made leaps and bounds in the last 5 years, and the packs themselves are fantastic.

Hmmm, Delft won two e-competitions last year using RC cells. I would call that a yes-yes. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif It's certainly a good place to start one's research.

Most e-teams seem to be in the 5.5-8 kw-hr range on their battery packs. That should be good for a rough estimate of battery cost and mass.
