The D2704 are due to arrive on july 1st.
Anybody has placed order for them as yet?
Is it right to presume they'd be way better than hoosier or avon ??

Only one way to really know....and that is to run them. The TTC data won't be coming for a while.

My contact though at Goodyear says they are faster than the D2696...so who knows.

We have heard that they are significantly lighter and faster than the old D2696s, which were themselves an awesome tyre, and much faster than the Avons we previously ran.

We are anxiously awaiting our first sets of 2704s and will let you know the results once we get them.

I would suggest that nobody make assumptions of the D2704 until somebody has actually ran them.

I feel like a lot of people are going to get confused with facts they have heard about the 2704 and the 2697. Due to the fact that nobody knew that the 2697 existed until two schools showed up with them in Michigan. And just as fast as the 2697 got discovered, it has gone away. So, for the sake of keeping facts straight I think it would be better to not make any assumptions of the 2704 until people have started to run them.

Missouri had the 2697's on their car when they rolled it out of their trailer on Wednesday. No idea what they had on during the events though.

So both exist. But I believe that the 2697's are prototype tires that M S&T was/are testing and the 2704's are the REACH-Compliant tires that are for sale from Goodyear.

I sent the distribution package to Brian, our TTC webmaster, last Wednesday. He was away for a few days, but he worked on it last night and hopes to have it available on the private TTC site tonight or tomorrow.
