hey,

I was wondering what teams were using for chassis analysis. I have modeled the chassis in pro-e but it's extremely hard to get the nodes perfect. Does anyone know an easy way to do this so that i can use pro-mechanica to analyze it. Or if anyone knows any other programs to do this please email me or post a reply. thanks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you search, you'll find a thread that I posted asking a very similar question.

If you draw it in pro/e using only points and datum curves...you can then switch to pro/mechanica and assign beam properties to each of the curves. In pro/e, make sure you have your units set to lbf and not lbm...otherwise your forces in mechanica will be in units of lbm.

We tried a few different constraint sets and ended up with something that simulated the twist test picture that Denny Trimble posted up on here.
