Pi Shurlok will be considering a limited sponsorship with primary focus to South East Michigan based teams for the 2008/2009 season. Our sponsorship will take the form of ECU hardware and software from our OpenECU family of controllers. These ECUs can be used for a variety of systems on a FSAE vehicle ranging from engine control, chassis control, CAN communication and more. These controllers allow C or Simulink block diagram based programming, and are engineered for rapid prototyping as well as production usage. Please see www.pi-shurlok.com (http://www.pi-shurlok.com) and www.openecu.com (http://www.openecu.com) for more information on our capabilities. Additionally, some hands-on technical support will be available. If interested in being considered for this opportunity, please respond to: Preston Schipper preston.schipper@pi-shurlok.com

Thanks and good luck this year!
Preston

Interesting. How does this compare to Mototron / Motohawk?

Very similar. We support both simulink or C style coding. All calibration is done with industry standard tools (ATI's Vision or ETAS's INCA). All hardware can come in development or production form. I used MotoTron as a student for Formula and can say the transition between either is extremely easy.

you've peaked my interest but for a bigger, post FSAE project (as I'm now FSAE alum).

Can they be used on a double-decker bicycle?

This sounds interesting...

As I understand it, openecu is an open hardware platform and toolkit for developing an ecu (or general automotive computing platform) - is this correct? I was a bit unclear looking at the site. Does the project include a base application that would be suitable for controlling an efi engine out of the box?

If the latter is true, this would be great in the short term - use the ecu and develop custom datalogging logic. If it's the former, it would be great longterm (our team doesn't have the time and manpower to develop an ecu currently). Anyone interested in collaborating on a fsae specific ecu application for this device?
