We need to choose the material of the differential housing , and how to fix it to the chassis .
so I need to know certain things :
1- What are the factors that should be considered in choosing the material of the differential housing ? and what are the options available .
2- what are the available manners to fix the differential to the chassis , and also what are the factors that should be considered ?
Thank you in advance .

1 - Factors: Appearance, CO2 emissions. Options: asphalt
2 - Fixing: glue, tape, hair (in that order only). Factors: helmet.
Come on mate, you can do better than that. You can ask these questions of pretty much any item on the car. Have a think about what makes the diff different! Work out what forces are seen by the diff and go from there.

....this is not the handout you are looking for.
You can make quite a few materials do what you need--just DO some research and experiment. Failure is always an option.

I always try to be helpful with rookie teams. even more with countrymen. Given that you are from my school i should be extra helpful, but you are not giving me that chance with such questions.
do some research and just think about it for a day or two, a simple design process in which you only need some common sense to start with. considerations like this are made for every mechanical element designed EVER.
to answer your question:
1. either cheese, molten carrots, titanium reinforced carbon fiber or anything in between. you choose
2. glue, rivet using carrots or elastic bands.
Why would you choose one of these over the other?

Thank you guys , I really appreciate your help , I guess I'll go with carrot and a glue to fix it to the chassis http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

ahmad,
Stop.
Firstly, you haven't explained any of your logic, just that you'd somehow "narrowed down my options."
Did you look up the properties of either of the materials you are proposing? If so, why would be you asking us if Iron - mass = Aluminium ?
You can make the diff housing from whatever you want, but nobody here is going to be able to help you because you haven't defined anything for us. Nor have you put in any work of your own. If you can't do any of the ground work, what makes you think you will be able to design/model/draw/manage a reasonably involved and somewhat important part?
I'll give you a hint:
Hi, my name is _
I am from _
I am trying to design _ for this years team
I have looked at other teams and other cars and I have found _
The problem I am having is _
I can see _ options, which are _ _ _ _ _
What do you guys think?

M. Nader,
You think you are funny now .. You think just because famous judges do that does give you a permission to do this !!!
This forums is to help others .. not to mock them .. I can't deny ; It's his fault not to try to study first .. But that does NOT give you the right to mock of you countrymen " Your words " ...
You will never be like any of those judges if you pursued that rude way through the forum ; Just try to study hard at least to be like them .
We are in Ramadan ; Read the holy Quraan and you will find one verse that says in meaning ; "

Just try to be helpful next time please !

What do you think about this.. (http://happyengineering.blogspot.in/2013/07/what-do-you-say-about-this-housing.html)
It was recently seen in Formula SAE Lincoln 2013.

As did I! I've found after 4 years of FSAE that the Aussies and Canadians are a riot. (Tim I'm assuming you're from the land upside-down if you were on Curtin's team)
Pranav, That picture is Oregon Tech. They were directly next to us in the paddocks. Great bunch of guys and a bit of an un-orthodox approach to their problem!
Honestly, Ahmed, if you're not going to a) do some research and b) follow Jay's advice....you're going to have a bad time. Look for inspiration from other teams...go from there.
Lastly....about they only "holy book" we recognize around here (for multiple reasons) is the Holy book of Tech, Formula SAE version.
"Thou shalt not make any main roll structure of less than 0.095" wall thickness or be damned to the eternal depths of tech inspection" ..hahaaaa...Oh dear its a friday

"Thou shalt have four wheels, not arranged in a singular line. The number of wheels shall be four. Five shalt thou not have, neither three, excepting thou then add another wheel. Six is right out. Once the fourth wheel, not within a line with the more than one other wheel, be added, thou shalt proceed" -The Book of Tech, 2:T2.1

And on the 6th day, Australia was turned upside down and turned into the land of locked differentials. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
