I wanted to know whether all teams go with single muffler or some teams also have two exhaust(two muffler)(two primary exhaust runners taken out from one side of the engine and other two from the other side) and what are the pros and cons of using two mufflers?

I think the pros of using two of them is the easier manufacturing of the exhaust pipes and thier packaging inside the chassis.
Cons: Increasing weight.
Also I havent been able to figure out what would be the effect on the sound decibel and the back pressure in both the cases.

I believe that two mufflers would have a negative effect on sound. If you look at the theoretical equations for a simple expansion chamber muffler the length of the muffler is inversely propotional to the frequency you wish to gain maximum attenuation at eg. whatever frequency is equal to 11000rpm for a F4i. If you have two mufflers you would halve this frequency and therefore have to have two mufflers of twice the length to get the same attenuation (in theory). I know Auckland ran a twin exhaust on there 05 car and someone on there team told that they went back to single due to noise problems. My advice, stick with a single muffler
