§ 3.3.8.1 of the FSAE refers to Figure 5 on page 36 of the 2006 FSAE rules.
In Letter (C) this rule states:
"The diagonal side impact structural member must connect the upper and lower side impact structural members forward of the main hoop and rearward of the front hoop".
However, this verbal definition does not match the assembly depicted in Figure 5 (or vice versa), where the tube referred to as "diagonal side impact member" is clearly seen to extend between the front and main hoop rather than between the tubes referred to as "upper side impact member" and "lower side impact member".
Hence, from our point of view Figure 5 somewhat contradicts § 3.3.8.1 (C).
Since the officials refused to answer the question, whether the written rule and the picture deviatie from each other or not, I'm posting this to find out, whether someone else has came across this potential bug.
