Do you want to see what a FSAE frame design judge did with the frame of his own race car?

http://thinkfastengineering.co...frame-modifications/ (http://thinkfastengineering.com/2012/02/db-6-frame-modifications/)

That is one post in a Swift DB-6 build thread. There will be more soon.

It should be too late for you to make use of the details in there this year, but it may be interesting anyway. Take a look around the rest of the site to find out what I'm up to these days.

That's a nice article and cool website. Hope you don't mind that I put it up on FStotal: figured that the more FSAE people see it, the better.

And the Australian teams are just starting their design phase now.

Great article Neil. A very good demonstration of how a practical engineer can use CAE/FEA to improve a race car. I think developing an old FFord is a much cooler proposition than competing with the new Mygale for the British Championsip (some good safety improvements but horrible styling and not too keen on the engine change).

The SAE papers about the development of two Swift Formula Atlantic's which Neil contributed to are also a great read. Look them up.

Cheers
