I think our new ones said 1.06 on the drawing. But, I haven't weighed them myself.

Jack,
From what I understand the tanners tend to get even lighter with time (uber-trick mass reducing seals)...of course they gain the weight back when you fill them back up again...

Yeah, and they don't have all that heavy "valving" inside to worry about, either http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
yeah...all that heavy valving will just slow the car down... http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
while i'm at it, would a 5" long spring be too short for the 7800? i remember you guys had some problems with springs being a little on the short side. thanks.

No, as long as they are 5". When we first got the penskes last year we were planning to run the tanner springs we had gotten with the tanner shocks we were abandoning, but found they were all .25" or so short. The stiffer springs also had too small of an ID to fit on the perches. The eibach springs we ended up getting worked great, and we'll be running them again this year.
Another note with the tanners, don't expect to be able to run them for more than a solid drive or two without having to refill them with oil, from our experiences they leak pretty badly.

Sorry to bring up a thread from the dead, but what's the OD on the 7800s? Thanks.
