Seat Harness Specifications - What do they mean?

Does anybody have any information regarding the various FIA and SFI specs? Are the specs listed in the rules a minimum? Are there other spec numbers that will pass? I just emailed the SAE people asking the same thing, I think we are close to being the team with the most questions asked...
