Name of IA Data

Hey everybody,

Rule 3.21.6 of the FSAE Rules 2012 says:
The Impact Attenuator Data must be named as follows: carnumber_schoolname_competition code_IAD.pdf using the assigned car number, the complete school name and competition code
[Example: 087_University of SAE_FSAEM_IAD.pdf]

The IAD sheet says:

The submissions must be named as follows: schoolname_IAD.pdf


Which name did you use? Or doesn't it matter at all?

That depends on the competition you're going to participate at.

The main FSAE rules refer to the US competitions. I know at least that all Eurpean competitions have different rules here. You should search on the website of the competition for more information. England, Germany and Austria have all additional rules sets, which superseed the FSAE rules. There you should find your answer.

Hey Bemo,

we found it for FSG and FSA.

FSUK uses the ruleset and the template of FSAE. Therefore there is this "problem" with the two different namings.

Use whatever the rules for the specific competition say. Otherwise you risk penalties.

I know Bemo, that's why I am asking. Maybe some one has found out the solution. The answers from FS UK are pretty slow...

Once again:

On the official FS UK Rule set:

Article 2:

The report must use the form in FSAE rules Appendix B-2.

The form in Appendix B-2 says:

The submissions must be named as follows: schoolname_IAD.pdf using the complete school name


BUT:

Article 2 also says:

Was the report submitted in the correct format and containing the
required information?
i. That the report be in Adobe Acrobat (B.3.21.5) and be named a
specific way. (B.3.21.6)

Therefore referring to rule B.3.21.6 of the FSAE Rules.

This rule says:

The Impact Attenuator Data must be named as follows: carnumber_schoolname_competition code_IAD.pdf using the assigned car number, the complete school name and competition code
[Example: 087_University of SAE_FSAEM_IAD.pdf]



Therefore two possibilities to name the Report are both in the rules.
