While designing half shafts having CV joints at both ends, do we consider them to be simply supported att both ends? What theory do we apply to find its diameter??

You should probably just buy them from Taylor Race if you have to ask that. If you really need to know, crack open a mechanics of solids book, that should give you a place to start. And here's a hint, they're in torsion.

You don't need a CV joint at both ends. You need only a single CV jount or double Cardan with a phase angle for a multiplaner steering intermediate shaft. A single Cardan joint is not a cv joint, but you knew that, right?

If you have the funds, try Taylor Race tripod joints at the ends of your shafts. They are both light and strong

The 02002011 tri-pods are rated at around 1400Nm.
