Hey guys,
I'm trying to get some information about Harley davidson OE fuel pumps. I have a contact at HD but it has been over a month and I have not received any solid information.

I'm looking for pump manufacturer, flow/pressure/amperage information, and ethanol compatibility.

I've you've got anything feel free to share your knowledge here, or email me off-list if you don't want to be open about it.

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, the best way to go about getting this sort of information is to buy one and inspect/test it. The flow/pressure/amperage test is cheap and easy to do with a small investment in some sensors... or you can send it a number of places to do it. The manufacturer will have some markings on the unit, so you can just look for that. The ethanol compatibility would be a relatively straightforward question for the manufacturer once you've figured out who it is. Ethanol incompatibility isn't generally an instant kiss of death, so it all sort of depends on how long you want it to last. I've used pumps that weren't rated for E85 for quite a while before there was any sort of issue. Most pumps have *some* ethanol resistance now that there are many states that require a minimum ethanol content during certain times of the year.

Thanks Kirk

I figured as much. I have a voltage/amperage testing rig already built, just need the flow part still.

Always worth an ask! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There was a discussion the other day about this...

The FloScan sensors are inexpensive and work great. Happy testing.
