Ok, this is our first attempt at visually appealing body work so bear with me (last year we had the car that looked like a carbon fiber and wire-tie moccasin). We used poly-styrene (sp) shaped by hand for our body molds and then laid glass over them using epoxy resin (using epoxy so it wouldn't melt the foam). Now we need to do body work, but are worried that using a poly-resin based bondo (we are actually using Bondo-Marhide Dyna-Glass Bondo) we will melt or chemically alter the epoxy resin and make it weak. Have any other teams worked with epoxy resined glass successfully and if so what did yall use for body/paint work? Along the same lines, will normal high-build primer cause problems or do we need to use only epoxy primer. Thanks for any help.

I dont think there should be a problem. we used epoxy resin and fiberglass for our male mold, and used good old normal automotive bondo without a problem. the primer should be fine as well. at any rate the part you're doing the body work on is just the mold so even if it did get weakened somewhat it should still be plenty stiff for your purposes... at least i hope thats just the mold because doing bondo work on the actual part would just be adding wead weight to your nosecone.
