Could you please help out in selecting the right kind of shock and spring for FSAE Cars. What are the factors to be considered while selecting shocks.

That's sort of like asking how to build a racecar in exactly three steps.

Three steps ... hmmm ...

1. Get lots of students

2. Get money

3. Get lots of Bad takeaway food and beer

Those three steps have generated a few cars for us in the past.

As for the shocks and springs maybe its worth looking at some FSAE websites for what other teams run. If you are just starting out mountain bike or 1/4 midget coil-over units are a good place to start looking. Also have a search on these forums for similar topics. This one comes up quite a few times with a lot of arguments and side-tracked responses.
