Hey guys,
I am part of a first year team.

So the thing is I was working on modeling the engine part in WAVE and I've hit a block because I dont have any valve lift timings for the engine we are gonna use (Honda 600RR)

Any other solutions if I dont have the freedom to open up the head and measure it?
The manual doesnt help much on that front either..

Thanks anyway

You could at least roughly measure the open/close event without having to open up the engine. Take off the intake and exhaust, you should be able to see the valves. Get something skinny, stick it in the hole, wait for it to start moving up and down. Do the same with a spark plug, take it out, put something skinny in the hole, that will give you a timing reference. Obviously you want to be slowly spinning the engine with a wrench as you do this. Use your own discretion for what you stick in the engine though, and what numbers it gives you. Also, try looking on forums for CBR's, I'm sure at least one person that rides a CBR knows a lot about the stock cams, you just have to find him.

hey
Thanks for the suggestion.
Does everybody go about opening their engines and doing this because I don't think you can model correctly in WAVE without having precise valve lifts. I'll try this out though

How did you go about getting all these parameters right for your WAVE model anyway?
I haven't seen much discussion on the forum so I'm just trying to figure out.

Thanks again
