Hi guys,

I design actually our fuel tank. This year, our main hoop have his bottom part inclined. So the space behind the seat and firewall isn't protected by side impact.
So the rules says in the IC2.5.2 that the fuel tank must be shielded by structure built to T3.3 or T3.34.

So i want to know if the tube configuration autorize to place our fuel tank behind the seat. I think yes because it's properly triangulated but i'm not sure.

I join a pic :

Sorry for my bad english.

Thibault,
you should send your question either to the FSAE Rules Committee or to the rules committee of the competition in which you intend to take part.
They will be able to give you the correct answer.

Thibault,

I second Tobi's advice because it looks like your rooll hoop doesn't comply.

The lower side impact tube may not be bent or must be braced with additional tubing. See T 3.5.5.

Ok so I will ask this to the rules comittee.

I transmit to the frame designer for the answers about the bent tube for side impact http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
