Has anyone used any other source for tripod boots to go with Taylor Race tripods. I would prefer to pick up something locally if I can avoid shipping charges.

Hi,

For our bespoke tripod system, we racked our brains for a while and tried a lot of things to find suitable boots. In the end, we got some CV joint boots off a road car (Vauxhaul I think) from a car dealer which fitted great and were very cheap! So it might be worth looking around to see what's available.

If using the taylor housings, we just went to the local auto parts store and picked up some standard car CV boots...fit great.

Sounds good. We are using Taylor Race tripod joints but we are making our own housings from pre-splined torsion shafts that we purchased from paradigmmotorsports.com. It doesnt sound like we would have any problems fitting a different boot to our design.
