The University at Buffalo is offering MAE 554 "Road Vehicle Dynamics" (RVD) as part of this summer's "EngiNet" distance learning program. The course is based on the Millikens' "Race Car Vehicle Dynamics" and "Race Car Vehicle Dynamics: Problems, Answers and Experiments" books. Topics include tires and tire modeling, axis systems, two-degree-of-freedom vehicle models, four-wheeled vehicle models and quasi-static force-moment analysis. The course is meant to introduce the student to a broad range of topics and vocabulary found in vehicle dynamics. Applications to both passenger cars and race cars are emphasized. The course is suitable for Senior or Graduate Level students (motivated Juniors have also successfully completed the course).

To learn more about RVD and UB's distance learning program, visit http://www.eng.buffalo.edu/EngiNet/course_offerings/summer_2004.htm The course is provided on CDs or by streaming video, supplemented by e-mail communication with the instructor and electronic exams. You may be able to arrange transfer credit to your home school for this course.

Feel free to contact me if you want more information.
