I posted some pics in another thread but I thought I'd start a new post. I've been working on the bach Roadster ("bach" is a play on my last name) for about a year and now I'm just getting it sprung and rolling. Hopefully progress will speed up as I add brakes, steering and drivetrain. I have a complete and running engine mounted in the chassis but don't have the differntial or half shafts.

Any idea on how much the bill is gonna run for this project? Looks pretty fun.

I've spent about $10k including some tools and my welder. I'm not sure what the body should look like, most likely something similar to the Atom. It's been fun building it without the pressure of a competition but now I can't wait for that first drive.

I see rod-ends in bending! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Is the plan to make this street legal, or is it going to be a competition only car? And what's powering it?

I was waiting for someone to point out the rod ends. For me, the advantages of having an oversized rod end (ease of manufacture, assembly, and adjustment, cost) outweigh the disadvantages (possible failure due to threads in bending).
The plan is to be street legal, it's not built to any race series spec so the most racing I would do is local autocrossing. Right now the powerplant is a GSXR 600 with plans to upgrade to a 1000 or 'busa once the car is fully functional.
I started on body work molds this weekend, I'll post some pics when I get them complete.
