Hey guys I am thinking about signing up for the Rouelle seminar for the obvious reason but I wont be able to until I verify with some other obligations that they will not overlap.

According to the optimumG website, they will only have one seminar this year during 19-21 May.

Historically, do they fill up? I will register as soon as possible but I am just wondering.

Also how much knowledge do they expect you to already know? I will be done with my JR year in Mechanical Engineering but our college does not offer any courses in vehicle dynamics. I have tried to analyze the Milliken books as well as Carroll Smith books but I dont think I learn well that way.

So to make the knowledge they give in those 3 days most effective, what should I do to prepare?

anvit, learn as much as you can from the books, it will help a lot in understand his lectures. The first time i attended his seminar, i didnt know much about cars, or have any experience building one. So i had trouble trying to understand simple basic terms. And most of the time he would assume that you would know the basics. But even if you dont understand ... you can always ask him.

The seminar usually fills up pretty quick. But im sure he can squeeze you in there somehow.

I strongly suggest that you focus on this seminar instead of trying to choose between this and the CFD seminar.

Btw, if they havent changed the format yet, it's 2 days of Roulle seminar, and a day with one of the MOTEC representative. And get enough sleep, the seminar is grueling. We started at 7am all the way to 8-9pm with 5 min breaks every hour.

I have heard that the schedule and content has been modified in the last few years, and that it is now a 3 days Roulle seminar?

I am actually looking into attending again this year seeing last time I am not prepared enough for a lot of subjects he talked about...

I have been able to make time in my schedule to attend the Rouelle seminar. I am hoping to bring one other teammate incase I miss some information.

I assume we both get our own 600 page note binder each, which sounds like a value in itself for the 450$ entry ticket.

Can you guys please let me know what you did this year to prepare since your last visit to the seminar? This is our first attempt with almost no support, so we need to make the best out of this seminar.

I graduate in one year, and am still undecided about how I will fund a grad degree in mechanical engineering. So I am not sure if we can pull of this kind of project before May 09, but we will try!

Also, any specific hotel you guys recommend?
