We've been running a spool now since we started, but really we are thinking it is time to start running a diff, particularly now the rear plate has been designed to accommodate it.

I know there are Formula Student LSD from Drexler for €1500, which would be ideal. Unfortunately at this point we simply don't have 1500 available to spend on an LSD.

So we were thinking, since a lot of teams change their diff. perhaps as often as every year; does anybody have a spare one lying around that they would be interested in Selling to Full Blue Racing?

We'd be looking to spend up to about £500.

Sounds like it could be mutually beneficial if its just lying around your workshop collecting dust.... http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hey Ed,

Asked our drivetrain guy if we'd want to sell our old one (Quaife). Afraid to say we don't have a whole one and it's on its last legs.

He recommended sticking with the spool over something like the Quaife. Standard it's ~8kg and ours wasn't the most reliable thing in the world.

Hopefully one of the other teams can help you out though.

Did you guys ever get one, or are you still interested in buying a used unit?

Melbourne Uni have at least one old diff that we could sell. If you guys are still interested, I can get you more info on the ones we have lying around.

BTW: we went from clutch pack in 2008 to spool in 2009, and have run one ever since...
