ArvinMeritor will have our Mobile Chassis Lab at the Detroit competion. We will be able to support the teams with shock testing and scales for setting corner weights. The Lab will be at the competition Thurs. to Sat. All testing/setup is first come first serve. We are also sponsoring the best suspension design award. For more information about the award contact Simon Dean (Simon.Dean@ArvinMeritor.com) or stop by the lab at competition.

I am developing fixturing for mounting FSAE dampers to our shock dyno. In order to help me in this process, I need to know what diameter bolt teams are using to attach their damers to their car. Right now I am assuming 6mm, 1/4", and 5/16" as the most common sizes. If you are using a bolt with a different diameter and would like to have your dampers dynoed at the competition please let me know what size bolt you are using.

If you have any other questions, e-mail: Stephen.Rumple@ArvinMeritor.com

I do believe those diameters cover it.

The Ohlins dampers we use require M12 bolts.

No kidding... Are you sure there's not supposed to be a spherical in there instead? http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Raphaël,
I assume your 3/16" is actually #10 either way not a problem.

Michael,
I think we can acomodate the M12, nothing over 1/2" though without making a new fixture.

Thanks for letting me know.
