We need to take a tally and see who how many of us really didnt make it. SAE knows but we dont. This isnt for anything but to get a number of teams who didnt get in. Not political and not trying to get in. Just wanna know. So i'll be the first. Just copy my number and school name and paste it to you reply to keep a nice little updtaing list going.

Also, I know Colorado School of Mines and the Air Force Academy didn't sign up, but I don't know for sure they were planning to.

If you know the teams then contact them and ask if they were going to and if they will put themselves on the list. That goes for everyone.

Don't let me interrupt but, does this list have a point? Seems kinda pointless so far. I dunno maybe I am in the dark about something if so shed some light. Thanks

maybe this list will be the start of an unofficial 'competition' where students can evaluate their peers' creations and comment/creatively critique them. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
hopefully this restriction on team registration won't undermine the willingness of teams to create something!

For the minority of teams that didnt make that might want to know how many teams didnt make it. Also some of us are trying to put something together where we get group rates on things to get over to england. So this would look pointless to someone that it doesnt affect so look at things that matter to you and comment on those.

If there is enough interest how about a race in Las Vegas, cheep rooms, low air fare,,,,, could become the outlaw FSAE.

thats not a bad idea!! haha http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Also it would make for some nice photoshoots (grand canyon anyone?!) as well as good top-speed runs (salt flats). Also - without restrictor for a pikes-peak race (how far is that, maybe 10hr drive?? haha

Actually, prostitution isn't legal in Vegas or the surounding county.

Rob (and any others who missed fsae registration) i suppose you've all already seen it but for those that haven't and are keen to attend, you can register a provisional interest for formula student by emailing Steph Levin at the IMechE.

quote:
We expect to open registration for Formula Student 2005 early in January. We will keep this web site updated and give plenty of advanced warning of the exact date. Could any teams who are wanting to enter FS2005 please email Stephanie (http://s_levin@imeche.org.uk) to register their interest in advance. Please ensure only one email is sent per team, clearly stating which university and the contact details, and stating which classes (1, 1(200 series), 2 and/or 3) you intend to enter. All emails at this stage will be treated as expressions of intent rather than firm commitments to take part. For new teams, the Rules page explains the different classes, and a new team guide is available via the Advice & Feedback page.

Our team captain was told that all available spots for the 2005 Detroit competition were filled in 73 minutes. We've also been told that, due to demand, there will be two competitions next year- one in Detroit, and one in the west somewhere (likely California).

There have got to be more than 8 teams that missed registration. I, for one, am just curious how many there are.

And what's the latest rumor on a Cali compitition? I'm writing our 2006 budget and would like to figure in travel expenses to the west coast http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

The west coast comp is not a rumor, they announced it a FSAE in May. As it stands now you can only compete in one; Detroit or California.

Denny Trimble

Where did you hear you can only compete in one?

I think they might keep it open to allow teams to attend both events.

What I remember, is that you could compete in both events if you wanted. But registration would be open the "local" teams for some amount of time before it was opened to everyone.

ethanL007
10-19-2004, 09:52 AM
At the captains meeting I thought it was stated that at first you had to select one to compete in, then if there were openings left later on they would consider allowing dual registration.

I wasn't really concerned with this (we are from NH), so I wasn't paying real close attention. Anyone else that was there feel free to correct me.

p.s.- We are also down for an outlaw event in Vegas.

J. Schmidt

So there will be a 2006 event in California, and word on the location and dates?

Rob Woods. You are a rude man and show no respect. You must also be funny looking man. Our Lord and Maker gave us one mouth and two ears in order that we could listen twice as much as talk. With two or three mouths and only one deaf ear you must look stupid.
Someone posted that you are a dynamic person. This may be correct, but yoy are dynamic in a rude way.
I wonder how many on here smiled when they saw that your team missed the registration deadline because you were mouthing off and the time passed. I was glad. This should be a lesson to you. There are times when you must be humble.

If you laughed when we missed registration then it shows your character quite plainly. I listen to people who have something pertenant to say. There is a lesson in none of this. I am comfortable in the way that I am. You are an idiot for even posting this. Don't you have anything better to do? Thanks for posting such a retarded comment.

hey salvatore,
which school are you from in Phillipines? I've been trying to get a team from Malaysia to come to Detroit for years. We had a singaporean team last year. They didnt do so well, but hats off to them for finishing a car and shipping it to detroit.

we should have more school from that part of the world to compete. Maybe one day we can have a FSAE competition in SEPANG racetrack. Who knows http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Rinaz, like you it sounds like. I am fortunate that my family could send me to the US for my education.
I have been interested in auto racing for many years as Jovy Marcellos family was a friend of my family in Manila. He was killed many years ago racing at Indianapolis 500.
He was a modest man, not like some loudmouths on this forum.

I got a number of a guy who ship racecars for a living. As soon as I get to a phone that I can call England with I will. One of the other teams gave it to me. Hopefully we can get some sort of group deal or rate. I'll keep you guys updated.
