Has anyone tried using Honeywell GT1 hall effect sensors on a CBR F4i for crank and/or cam pickups? I am interested to see how this worked out if anyone has already done it, and if it took a whole lot of modification to mount them.

I tried desperately to get one at the start of 2006 season. I couldn't find anyone that would sell me one or two, they all wanted min 10 @ $40-60ea (can't remember the exact price). A donation from Honeywell might be a reasonable alternative. From the technical drawings I looked at, I expect it should just bolt in.

Eventually I just gave up and made the stock VR cam sensor work - a better solution for me anyways.

You can buy as few as you want from Newark, and they're only $24. I think it might fit for the cam, but to mount it for the crank would definitely require some sort of modification (for the F4i anyway) if it is possible at all...which is why I want to see if anyone has done it.

Oops, I was thinking about another sensor:

I don't think the GT1 is a direct drop in replacement, but this one should be.

I bought a hall sensor a year ago when my original Haltech get broken. It was just the sensor itself so I had to drill the old one out of the aluminium housing and solder the 3 legs to the wire. I filled the thing with epoxie then. It has made service for a year now.
Price $5. Should I try to find the part number?
I think it was made by Siemens for the auto market.
