Hi everyone,

hope Santa brought you all you needed for your car http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

While I was surfing the aussies team's website, I saw that a large number of them used the penske shock for the 1/4 midget cars. My question is, how much they cost (previously posted at 220$ USD), how much they weight, are they ajustable externally for compression and rebound (turn knob) and what are the feedback from those teams who used them for the past year. I assumed that Penske ask you for the damping rate you want and dyno-it to your specs, but are they easily revalvable with shims and other valve.

Thx

And also, how much time you would expect to receive it.

we paid $400AUD per shock

no external adjustements of compression or rebound
can only change preload

the penske distributor in australia
was willing to revalving them whenever we wanted to get the right characteristic

pretty much we couldnt say anything wrong about the damper

the shocks are quite easy to revalve, the distributor sent me the instructions (i am 8 hours away so not so easy to send the shocks back and forth) and the shims, first time it took a little while, the second one i did only took 20-30 mins, now i could probably do it in under 15 mins per shock.

... on a similar topic, does anyone know where to get springs with a rate greater than 170 lbs/in for quarter midget shocks?

Thanks!
